August update

As some of you may have heard, Kristin was in the hospital for several days last month. She had critically low sodium levels, which caused a seizure. Fortunately, Donald was working from home that day, and he was able to quickly call an ambulance. She's doing much better now, and we thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

As you might imagine, it was a scary episode for us. But things are getting back to normal, and that includes Mysterion. We are keeping on top of our publication schedule for stories--our most recent story was published on July 23rd, and our next one will be published August 27th (though you can read it now if you're a Patreon supporter). A few other things are falling behind, though, and it doesn't look like we'll have an interview this month.

Our July submission period closed last week, with a total of over three hundred stories. Thank you for all your submissions!

Our first readers are hard at work reading your stories, but it will take a little while to get through them all. We only have seven slots for stories from this submission window, so we've become a little more aggressive about rejecting them early. While we certainly want to give everyone fair consideration, we also don't want to be holding on to too many stories we aren't going to publish. We're authors ourselves, and always appreciate quick response times!

If you had a story you didn't manage to submit before we closed, don't worry--we plan to be open again for the month of January. Meanwhile, we hope you'll enjoy our summer and fall stories!
